Mission
The Miami Brain Tumor Coalition (MBTC) is a charitable organization dedicated to the complete eradication of brain tumors and brain cancer (BT/BC) of all types, and the support of patients, families and caregivers. Therefore, we will commit our resources in partnership with patients, families, caregivers, doctors, researchers, public and private organizations, hospitals, universities and other non-governmental organizations in the furtherance of this mission.
Our goals are simple and straightforward:
- Eradicate brain tumors and cancer forever by supporting and leveraging the expertise of the world’s best doctors, researchers and technicians.
- Provide support and assistance to patients, families, friends and caregivers by bringing together the many resources available to them by creating an information clearinghouse; and, making this resources clearinghouse available to them in innovative and user-friendly ways.
- Increase public, private and general awareness and education regarding BT/BC through proactive and innovative programs and message delivery strategies.
- Establish and maintain a strong patient, friend, family and caregiver advocacy program that will ultimately lead to the creation and universal adoption of a Brain Tumor & Brain Cancer Patient Bill of Rights, and increased government funding of BT/BC research.
